I am so excited to begin! Where do I start?

The welcome section is a great place to begin. Here you will find the schedule, the supply list, a tour of the student portal, the widely popular Q&A sessions, and free patterns.


How long is each Star's workshop? Each workshop is approximately 1-2 hours in length, broken up into short "lessons" to make them easy to watch later when you're looking for something in particular.


Do I need to watch the seasons in a certain order? Nope! They're not sequential.


Can I watch the video lessons on any device? Yes! You can use your computer, tablet, or even your phone to watch the video lessons - as long as you have a web browser, you can log in to your student portal to access the videos.


Can I download the videos? Your video lessons never expire. You own the workshops and you can come back to your student portal anytime, so it's not necessary to download the videos. You own them and you can watch them as many times as you need to. And yes, you can even download the lessons if you know you'll be somewhere with a slow or non-existent internet connection!

Look for the “Download Video” button below each video. It will open the video in a new window or tab. In that new window or tab, right-click on the video itself and choose "Download Video..." or "Save Video..." to save it.  Depending on your device's memory, videos may only be downloaded to a laptop or desktop computer, not a tablet or mobile phone. 


 Where can I find the video transcripts?

Transcripts are available to download from each segment. The transcripts serve as a learning aid to help digest information and provides additional accessibility to the information.


Do I have to join the Facebook group?

It is completely optional to join the private community on the Knit Stars Facebook page. Click Here if you would like to join. Be assured that we will keep you up to date by emails regardless of whether you choose this option! 


What are the supplies and projects?

Prior to the summit, there will also be photos of many of the bonus patterns gifted by the Stars.  A supply list will be added to your Knit Stars student portal, so you can shop your stash and LYS or purchase specialty curated yarns.


Tell me about the special yarns?

There will be an opportunity to purchase yarns curated exclusive for Knit Stars, but you don’t need those yarns to participate and you don’t have to buy them. You also don’t have to do the project(s). Special Knit Stars yarn is optional and just for fun.


Do I have to buy special supplies or yarn to participate?

Nope! Knit Stars is all about learning and inspiration. Some instructors teach in general terms and others teach with a specific project. Patterns are usually included.


When will the specially curated yarns be available for purchase?

Shortly after the Knit Stars Early Bird purchase cart closes, we will email Knit Star owners to let them know when the special yarns will be available for purchase. Knit Star owners purchasing yarns at this time (Wave 1) will receive them prior to the summit. The special yarns will be available again in the fall (Wave 2). These yarns ship AFTER the event, most likely in January.


I missed Wave 1 and 2 for purchasing the special yarns. Are they still available?

The yarn is fabulous and we order just a few extra skeins each season. We would love to add you to the waitlist on the chance that extras are available for purchase. There are no guarantees. Please email [email protected] and tell us the specific item(s) you would like to purchase. We will notify you if they are available once all orders have been shipped and received.


I am so inspired by what I have learned! How can I purchase previous Seasons of Knit Stars?

Just log in to your student portal at, go to your Library (top menu or home page) and scroll down past the Season/s you own. You'll see a section called "Recommended Courses." Just click on the one you want to buy, and buy it! Easy peasy.


How do I become an All Star?

As soon as you "complete your collection" of all Knit Stars seasons, you'll automatically be granted All Star status, with access to the special bonus content, topic index and pattern vault. It’s awesome!


When will the cart open again for future summits? What will the summit cost?

We are so glad you are interested! After the springtime Early Bird (discounted) purchase option is closed, there will be an option to purchase the summit prior to the event in the fall.  Be sure to sign up on the wait list and look out for an email announcing this!


I’d like to purchase Knit Stars as a gift. Is that possible?

How nice of you! If you'd like to tell your recipient right away, you can simply checkout using their email address in the first step, and your billing information in the second step. This will bill you,but send the confirmation emails and receipt to your recipient.


If you'd like to tell the lucky recipient later, you can purchase with your email address and billing details, and you'll get the confirmation emails. You can then forward these to your recipient when you're ready to tell them, and email us at [email protected] so we can change your account access over to them.


I’m a local yarn store and I want to sign up for Knit Stars or show it in my shop.  Do you have any guidelines I should follow? (or) I’m a local yarn store and I want my information to appear on your local yarn store page. 

Thanks for your interest and inquiry.  As a local yarn store, here are the details on how you can participate in all the fun:

1. Enroll in Knit Stars for one or all of the Knit Star Seasons.

2. On the checkout confirmation page, click the link to complete the "LYS form" so we can add your shop to our LYS Directory inside the student portal.

3. Because each purchase of Knit Stars is like purchasing a "virtual seat" to an event, sharing login information violates our Terms of Use. As a local yarn store enrollee, though, you're welcome to show segments of the video lessons to customers in your shop as a jumping-off point for your own knit-alongs, classes, etc. We just ask that you limit the footage shared with your customers to 10 minutes per Stars' workshop.


Why is the sound muted on the Knit Stars videos?

Some browsers force 'autoplay' videos to be muted and require the users to 'tap' to enable audio. Safari and certain versions of Chrome on mobile devices will, by default, have this mute option activated. One possible solution would be to download Google Chrome to your iPad, laptop, or desktop and log into Knit Stars using that browser.


How do I download and print the patterns. 

All PDF files display and download the same way. Rather than printing directly from a computer, we recommend printing to a PDF file and saving it. Then re-open and print the new PDF file. This is a best practice for handling all PDF files.


Why aren’t all videos and lessons for previous Seasons available immediately after purchase?

We set up the live event lessons to be released one-by-one every few days, since many people feel overwhelmed with too much information at once! :) Videos for the past seasons (Knit Stars 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) can be unlocked all at once on request. If you would like this option for the past seasons, please email [email protected]. 


How do I update my credit card information?

Thanks so much for keeping your account information current! Here are the steps you may follow to update the credit card associated with your Knit Stars account:

1. Log in to your Knit Stars student portal

2. Click on your Avatar (or default) picture at the top right side of your screen.

3. Click on "Settings".

4. Click on "Credit Card Info" at the top right side of your screen.

4. Click on either the option to "Change Card" or "Remove Card".


Is my credit card information safe? Where can I remove my credit card/billing info?  

We utilize a secure and PCI-compliant gateway. We do not see or have access to the card information at any time. You may also remove your card information from your student portal settings at any time. 


I signed up with different email addresses and have more than one account. Can they be merged?

No problem - we would be happy to merge your accounts. Please email [email protected] and provide details of your preferred email address and the email address you wish to delete.


I'm not receiving email notifications, how can I change my email settings?

Be sure to add [email protected] in your contacts and check your junk / spam folder for emails. You may also email us at [email protected] with the email address the you wish to receive notifications. We will be happy to double check to ensure that we have the correct email address so you are ‘in the loop’.
